๐ ADMISSION : I’ve done bad things…AND, it’s okay. ๐

We’ve all had bad behavior moments in our lives and careers. While it sucks to admit it, sometimes this is the only way to learn how to be better, grow, and thrive. I am one of those humans that needs to get my hands dirty in order to learn at times.
๐ So, what “bad” have I done? ๐
- I’ve micromanaged
- I’ve been a bad communicator
- I’ve been late to meetings
- I’ve delivered things late or not at all
- I’ve overpromised and under-delivered
- I’ve fallen into the “f-ck you, I won’t do what you tell me” state
- I’ve been silent and passive
- I’ve been in over my head and failed multiple times
With all of these things that I’ve done, I’ve reflected and learned. I’ve actively tried to improve my skills, apologize to those that I’ve let down, and have sought forgiveness multiple times. While growth is uncomfortable and doesn’t always work out the way I’ve wanted, I’ve always evolved beyond where I was. Progress!!
We need bosses that want to grow with us, not over us.
โ Are there any “bad boss” behaviors in your past that you need to get off of your chest? โ

Iโve been too patient.
I should have asked for a time frame.
Iโve been too trusting.
I shouldnโt trust an organization that Iโve never been a part of.
I expected a level of accountability.
They werenโt accountable.
Disappointment aside, I win. I learned. It stoked my fire. ๐ฅ
Iโll treat others in my shoes better than they did.
