Curiosity did’t kill the cat, complacency did. Quietness did. Overeating human food or ridiculous portions will eventually lead to the the cat’s demise. Curiosity on the other hand expanded the cat’s world and put it face to face with adventures, experiences, and at times, the neighborhood dogs. With claws to help it climb, amazing ears to listen out, and incredible agility, why the heck would you want to have all these super powers and NOT be curious, NOT explore?!?! This would be an absolute waste of a tail!
No, I don’t have a tail, I am not as good at climbing trees as my two felines (Binx and Zen), and my ears might be big, but they aren’t quite as powerful in the sense of hearing. Can I afford to be curious if I am not a “cat”? Meow – well, yes! I am different type of animal with completely different super powers. For example, I have an incredible brain that can reason, compute, and collaborate. I have hands and fingers that can build amazing things, massage backs, and cheer you on. I have language and a voice that can story share, yell for our rights, and tell jokes. My biggest super power is my ability to focus these things in a way that makes my life continuously vibrant and hold space for others to do the same. They only work if I exercise them, practice them, allow myself to be curious with them. This is where I falter, I allow the inner gremlins to wreak havoc, fear weighs me down, and I listen to my haters. F*ck the haters!
What’s amazing about my cats is that they aren’t impeded by judgment when they scratch the couch in front of me, yell at me at 5 in the morning, leap at their fuzzy sparkle balls, or curl up in my lap for a nap. Cats just do it. Are they curious? Maybe sometimes, but I think most of the time they are just being cats and not caring about what other people think.
My 10 Curious Cat Lessons:
- Stop caring what people think
- Be loud when you need to be loud at any time of the day
- Be soft when you need to be soft (curl up with someone if possible)
- Bad around sparkly things and act like a fool daily
- Play fight for fun
- Fight fight for protection
- Be kind to those that are kind to you
- Hiss at those that are mean
- Test scratching things (wreaking havoc) to see anything happens
- Nap

I just love your mind, personality, and style. TY for sharing yourself so openly w the world.
