For my birthday and for our 16th wedding anniversary, L bought us a couple nights at Hike Inn in the northern Georgia mountains. Words cannot capture how amazing the experience was. From the hike in to Hike Inn, the community breakfasts and dinners, to our 9 mile round trip hike to Springer Mountain, it was incredible. The flowers, the trees, the birds, the bees, hot tea with my book from chair to chair, the late night star gazing, morning drum beat to sunrise…it’s a full sensory memory that I will take with me till I pass. Much like the time I’ve spent in Joshua Tree and 29 Palms with my mom, this was a soulful experience for me.
